2017 – Scott Rey

The HamPals Mentor program, between the CNY Bobcats Girls Hockey Association in Clinton and the Hamilton Women’s team, began in the Fall of 2017. The program unites Bobcat Families with members of the Hamilton Women’s team. The Hamilton women receive a second family, but also an incredible opportunity to establish and strengthen their relationships in the community. The Bobcats players receive a teacher, a mentor, and a coach, but most importantly, the girls will receive a big sister who shares a common love for hockey.

On various occasions, the two programs get together for some hockey related activities. On Sunday, January 7, 2018, the two teams engaged in some old-fashioned pond hockey on Tim Kogut’s pond in Clinton. This was a unique experience for everyone involved, as many of the Hamilton women have never skated outside before. It was an experience that everyone involved in will remember forever.
