1982 – Will Burns

I think it was 1982 or 1983. I played goalie on the Clinton High School team and we played a huge game against the HATED Rome team (RFA). It was a tense game. There were hundreds from Clinton in the stands, and there might have been a fight up there during the game. We won in overtime, if memory serves me. And I believe at some point during the game, Bill Loveland flipped off the RFA crowd. It was awesome.

Funny thing is, a few years later I went to Hamilton College and ended up being fraternity brothers with Mark Moshier, one of RFA’s left wingers from that game! We became fast friends.

There was nothing like playing Rome. I still dream about it sometimes. Thank you, Albert Prettyman!
