1964 – Mark deShong

Many memories after my parents shipped me off to prep school, where I found myself on Williston Academy’s Varsity hockey team, one of three Clintonians with Jimmie & Robbie Alanson. Budge Gere had been a goalie at Williston, and went on to play for Dartmouth. Our coach at Williston was Budge’s mentor, Dan (Carp) Carpenter, who played at Williston and had been a goalie at Dartmouth. Greg Batt Sr. invited me to play at Hamilton during the Christmas holidays with Budge in one net & Peter Wertimer in another.
