A geographic anomaly seeded our youth and high school teams with a host of excellent players: Hamilton Place. In this tiny dead-end street lived two of the finest coaches of Clinton youth hockey (Mr. Dockrell and Mr. Hameline), and a host of top players: Rick and Rod Burns; Bill, Tom, Joe, and Rob Hameline; Steve Eckerson; Tommy Dockrell; Kenny and Daryl Hunt (others?). And I have to mention the Hameline Backyard Hockey Palace (rivaled only by the Reece Outdoor Forum). Where else could Joe have learned all of those fancy little moves? Quite a hotbed, I would say.
