1943 – J.C. Calder

My father, John Calder ‘43, played for Albert Prettyman. He was provided a copy of the rules and later went on to officiate college hockey for a number of years. The copy of the rules in The Official Ice Hockey Guide, which I still have, lists the NCAA Ice Hockey Committee, which at the time was chaired by Albert Prettyman. The Guide shows that Hamilton’s record in 1942 was 6-3, with wins over Union (twice), Middlebury, Lehigh, Norwich, and the Alumni, and losses to Clinton Hockey Club, Williams, and to Greg Batt-led Colgate.
